Ever since I was a little girl, I have had a fascination with Astrology. I don’t have my own personal astrologer a la Nancy Reagan but I do follow it mainly for laughs. I do not do lucky numbers or play the lotto based around what a daily reading says nor do I blame any real life consequences I face as a result of the stars. Compare the Astrology App to the one you see on the Yahoo! page. They do contradict each other.

What does have to do with my weird sounding name? It’s a portmanteau of ‘Pisces’ and ‘Aries’. I was born on the cusp and for many years, I used to wonder why although my birthday is clearly under one sign, I have traits that totally contradicted it. Even with understanding things like the Decans and how your Moon sign affects your Sun sign (and this is before we get to the Rising/Ascendant), I still wondered why I felt so conflicted. Everyone is complex and real life has an impact on how you  develop and resolve conflicts. I am not ignoring that. I firmly believe that we have more control over consequences that happen to us over astral projections. I lean more towards the ‘nurture’ side of the debate because I despise the idea that as a person I cannot control things.

Yet, at the same time, I do think that there are some things that some people are predisposed to (like say, genetics and for some people what their birth chart says).

“Piscarian” has that Sci-Fi sounding touch. It seriously sounds like the name of a captain in ‘Star Wars’. It is also a term that encapsulates the essence of two dichotomous symbols and since the purpose of this blog is to discuss my eclectic hobbies in all their complex forms, I thought it was fitting. I hope to engage in thoughtful discussion.
